Chew Lake Association of Disabled Sailors are looking for volunteers to join our very friendly group of sailors and helpers.
Chew Lake Association of Disabled Sailors are looking for volunteers to join our very friendly group of sailors and helpers. We sail most Saturdays during the summer months roughly between 1st May to 1st October. Helpers are not expected to attend every Saturday, there is a rota system where helpers can sign on for the dates they can manage. We need both on and offshore help, assisting sailors with various disabilities to access our boats. The ability to sail is an advantage but not essential and training can be given if wanted. CLADS is part of the main Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club based at a stunning location with café and toilet facilities as part of the club. The entrance is from Wallycourt Road, Chew Stoke. There is no regular public transport to the location so you would need your own transport . Although this is to help with sailing for those with a disability, helpers are not required to be an experienced sailor. Just a desire to help out wherever possible is all that's needed.
Occasional opportunities to go out on one of our sailing boats, if needed.
