The volunteer Group Leader for the family activity club will help support fun inclusive craft and play sessions for autistic children, their siblings and parents.
Planning sessions to include games and craft ideas Welcoming parents, autistic children, young people and siblings to each session Posting on the Branch Facebook page about the activities to be included in the upcoming sessions Keeping the activity risk assessment updated Setting up and clearing away before and after the club activity Interacting with the parents and young people with autism, making sure that everyone can engage in the activities in a safe manner. Any expenses incurred will be reimbursed by the branch.

Knowledge and experience of the autism spectrum is an advantage but not essential as we can provide training Patience, empathy and warmth To be able to communicate confidently with the autistic children, their parents and the branch committee members.
Improve support to autistic people and their families in your local area. Build up an understanding of autism by volunteering with autistic people. Access free training and learn new skills. Meet new people. A worthwhile achievement to add to your CV. Having fun whilst carrying out a valuable role. This is a rewarding and fulfilling opportunity and will allow you to make a difference to those you are supporting and their families.
The first and third Saturday of the month from 10 am to 11.30 am The sessions take place in Locking, North Somerset You must live locally to the branch to do this role
