Role Purpose The Events Coordinator will lead the planning, organisation, and delivery of fundraising and awareness events that support the purchase, installation, and maintenance of community defibrillators. This role plays a key part in building local engagement, strengthening partnerships, and generating vital funds to help save lives in Weston-super-Mare.

Role Purpose The Events Coordinator will lead the planning, organisation, and delivery of fundraising and awareness events that support the purchase, installation, and maintenance of community defibrillators. This role plays a key part in building local engagement, strengthening partnerships, and generating vital funds to help save lives in Weston-super-Mare. Key Responsibilities 1️⃣ Event Planning & Delivery Develop and propose fundraising and awareness event ideas (e.g., community fun days, quiz nights, sponsored walks, charity stalls). Create event plans, timelines, and task lists. Coordinate logistics including venues, equipment, permits, and risk assessments. Ensure events comply with local regulations and safety requirements. Oversee event set-up and breakdown. 2️⃣ Fundraising & Income Generation Set fundraising targets in collaboration with the committee. Identify sponsorship opportunities with local businesses. Coordinate donation collection systems (cash, online platforms, raffles). Track income and provide summary reports after events. 3️⃣ Volunteer Coordination Recruit and brief volunteers for events. Allocate roles and responsibilities during events. Ensure volunteers feel supported, valued, and informed. 4️⃣ Community & Partnership Engagement Build relationships with: Local businesses Schools and colleges Community groups Local media Represent Donate For Defib W-s-M at community meetings or networking events. 5️⃣ Marketing & Promotion Support Collaborate with the communications lead (if applicable). Help promote events via: Social media Posters and flyers Community noticeboards Local press Assist with capturing photos and stories from events to share online. 6️⃣ Monitoring & Reporting Evaluate event success against targets. Gather feedback from attendees and volunteers. Provide written summary reports for the committee. Suggest improvements for future events. Skills & Experience (Desirable, Not Essential) Organisational and planning skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to motivate and coordinate volunteers Basic budgeting skills Creativity and initiative Passion for community health and saving lives Previous event management experience is helpful but not required.
