SEND and You (SAY) - SENDIAS (Special Educational Needs and Disability Info Advice and Support) Service
Do you have admin/advocacy skills and experience or interest in SEND?
We are recruiting volunteers to support with administration to follow up user survey reports and advocate by supporting our IAS advisors to connect with community organisations, schools and colleges to raise awareness of our service. SEND and You provides the Special Educational Needs & Disability Information, Advice and Support (SENDIAS) Service in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. We aim to raise awareness of our work within North Somerset and invite you to advocate within your local area and also consider taking on a few hours a week supporting our administration by following up online surveys to gain service user feedback that directly impacts how we develop our service. Admin work may be carried out from home, making this role convenient to fit within times that suit you best. SAY is an independent organisation and registered charity offering free, confidential and impartial information and advice to children or any young person aged up to 25 with SEND and their parents, about SEND. We encourage you to apply to volunteer with SAY if you are passionate about SEND issues and if you have knowledge or skills that you would like to share and develop within a client centred charity organisation. Our main office is based at Royal Oak House, Bristol. The role of volunteer within North Somerset would be mainly working from home or joining our Advisors in support at local schools etc; in this way location is varied. Whether you have time and skills to share for a short period of time or would like to commit to longer-term to gain work experience, we would like to hear from you.

Basic admin and IT skills or willingness to learn as training will be provided. Good communication skills; polite attitude and good listening skills when calling service users to invite feedback that aligns with our confidential, impartial service.
